FAWSsit-S2000 Standard

The S2000 Standard FAWSsit™ shower stall is the original product Care Giver Support Product, LLC invented and continues to be the primary product used by most individuals with disabilities.  For those who find that traditional bathing facilities are difficult or impossible to use, and who may not be able to do re-modeling of the bathroom to allow for full accessibility, the S2000 is the solution.  And it costs about 1/10th of a re-model.  Great for renters, seniors, hospice patients, individuals with almost any type of permanent or temporary disability for whom showering or bathing is no longer safe or even possible.  The S2000 model is for individuals who are still able to use a standard wheelchair.

The size of the S2000 is 36” wide by 36” deep, and stands 48” tall.  With this unit, the person to be bathed can be rolled into the shower stall in a standard shower/commode style of wheelchair, or even just a regular wheelchair.  Once inside the shower stall, a front support bar is lowered so that the fourth side of the shower pan can be attached for waste water collection.  A front shower curtain may be brought around for the person who is able to do their own bathing, or may be left open for easier caregiver access to assist with the bathing.

The source of water for the shower unit is any standard sink faucet.  And, there is a pump which pulls the waste water from the drain pan.  There is a hose attached to the pump unit which returns the waste water to the sink drain for disposal.  (See Operations and Maintenance for tips on using and maintaining the FAWSsit™ portable shower.)

While the S2000 is primarily intended for use at home for people who cannot or choose not to do complete bathroom re-modeling, it is also the perfect travel shower.  Since the S2000 shower folds flat to less than 8 inches in depth, and weighs less than 30 pounds, it can be easily transported in a vehicle.  So even if a house is re-modeled for accessibility, the S2000 provides for the freedom to travel for individuals with disabilities.  The FAWSsit™ portable shower can be easily set up in hotel rooms, eliminating the need to request a special room for shower accessibility.  It can also be used outdoors, at rest areas, at camp sites, or even near a swimming pool.

To make transport and storage even easier, a hard-sided travel case is also available for the S2000. The case consists of two durable sides, with two large straps to hold the upper and lower parts of the case closed over the FAWSsit™. It also has casters to roll it easily, and two different handle arrangements — one for pulling the case, and an additional set on the side of the case for easy carrying.  This case is so strong that it can be shipped or checked on airlines and will keep the FAWSsit™ shower stall safe from usual handling damage.

The best and most effective way to ensure a good shower for an individual in a wheelchair is to have a chair specifically designed for use in a shower. The FAWSsit™ Model 4000 chair is designed not only for long term, repeat use in a shower, but the commode style seat enables the best perineal access for full hygiene. This chair is special also because it snaps apart and can be stored or used for travel with the optional travel case.
